Awards and Recognitions

The REDP was awarded and recognized for its impressive outputs, outcomes and "best practice" lesion learned. The major ones are highlighted below.
  1. Energy Globe 2000
    Awarded the Energy Globe Award 2000 at Linz, Austria. The REDP own the Second Prize under the Public Investment Category. The Energy Globe Award is awarded to honor successful projects and initiatives around the work in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources for sustainable energy solutions. More than 200 projects had participated in the competition.


  2. Expo 2000
    Featured in the Expo 2000, Germany as a 'projects award the world" REDP was one of the few 'best practice' projects selected for exposition from around 1000 projects applied for the selection.



  3. Global 100 Eco Tech Award
    Awarded Global 100 Eco Tech Award in Nagoya, Japan jointly by the Japan Association for World Exposition 2005 and Nihon Keizei Shinbun Inc. during the World exposition 2005. REDP own the award for its contribution on the Community Managed Rural Energy Technology under the category "Technology to lead to New Development for Sustainable Society". The award also included prize money of 1 million Japanese Yen Japan.

  4. Pearl of Knowledge Award
    Felicitated with the Pearl of Knowledge Award in Bangkok, Thailand by the Asia Pacific Regional Bureau of the United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) on 27 April, 2005 for its exemplary works in the promotion of Community Managed Rural Energy Systems in rural areas of Nepal. The competition was held in "Knowledge Fair" and participated by 55 best practice programmes from 25 countries under the Asia Pacific Region.
